CNC / Multi-Spindle / Swiss / Schutte Machine Operator

The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC lathes, Swiss machines, Schutte multi-spindle equipment, or similar precision machining equipment while maintaining high standards for quality, safety, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
- Operate one or more CNC lathes, Swiss machines, Schutte multi-spindle machines, or similar precision machining equipment.
- Monitor machine performance to ensure efficient production and consistent part quality.
- Perform routine machine adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Change or sharpen tooling as required.
- Load materials and remove finished parts throughout production runs.
Machine Setup
- Perform basic machine setups, including touching off tooling and verifying machine readiness.
- Make offsets and minor adjustments during production.
- Basic CNC programming experience is a plus but not required.
Quality Control
- Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
- Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Maintain quality standards throughout production and report any nonconforming parts.
Equipment Maintenance
- Maintain coolant, lubrication, and fluid levels.
- Remove chips and keep machines operating efficiently.
- Perform routine housekeeping and basic preventive maintenance.
- Keep machines and work areas clean, organized, and safe.
Teamwork
- Cross-train on additional machine platforms to expand technical skills.
- Work closely with supervisors and fellow team members to meet production goals.
- Follow all company safety policies and quality procedures.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read blueprints and manufacturing drawings.
- Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Dependable with a positive work ethic and willingness to learn.
Preferred
- Two or more years of experience operating CNC lathes, Swiss machines, Schutte multi-spindle machines, or other CNC machining equipment.
- Basic machine setup experience.
- Basic CNC programming knowledge.
- Graduate of a machining or manufacturing trade school.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
- Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements.
- Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment around machinery, metal chips, coolant, and moderate noise levels.
