Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to troubleshoot electrical systems within HVAC units.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure HVAC system reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems repair issues involving plumbing, refrigeration, ammonia refrigeration, and mechanical components.
- Use hand tools and specialized equipment to perform repairs or upgrades on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/ Refrigeration) systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during field service visits.
- Comply with EPA regulations by handling refrigerants responsibly and maintaining certification standards.
- Assist with building automation system adjustments to optimize environmental controls across properties.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs performed, and system conditions for ongoing maintenance planning.
Skills
- Proven construction experience with a strong foundation in mechanical systems repair and building maintenance.
- Service technician experience with HVAC system installation, repair, and maintenance in commercial or residential settings.
- Ability to read schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals confidently.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles and the ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues effectively.
- Familiarity with plumbing systems related to HVAC applications including boilers and refrigeration units.
- Electrical diagnostics skills using tools such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical components.
- Mechanical knowledge of HVAC/R systems including refrigeration cycles, ammonia refrigeration systems, and boiler operations.
- Proficiency with hand tools necessary for equipment repair and installation tasks.
- Experience working with building automation systems for environmental control optimization.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Valid EPA certification for refrigerant handling; additional certifications related to HVAC/R preferred.
- Valid driver’s license (including <PERSON> driver if applicable) for field service operations.
