Group Fitness Instructor / Silver Sneakers Instructor (Independent Contractor)

This program serves the 55+ community across residential and community settings in the Richmond area.
We’re looking for a passionate, reliable, and experienced Group Fitness Instructor to join our team as an Independent Contractor. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely loves working with older adults and wants to be part of something that’s making a real impact in people’s lives.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading group fitness classes in senior living communities and/or community settings
- Serving as a substitute instructor when needed (including during planned vacations/time off)
- Delivering safe, engaging, and appropriately modified instruction for the 55+ population
- Representing Chief Strength and EverActive with professionalism and warmth
Requirements
- Experience working with senior populations - this is non-negotiable
- Current CPR/AED certification
- Current fitness certification (personal training or group fitness from a recognized certifying body - NASM, ACE, ACSM, AFAA, etc.)
- Flexible schedule with availability on weekday mornings and the ability to sub on short notice
- Reliable transportation
Preferred (but not required)
- Silver Sneakers certification or current Silver Sneakers instructor experience
- Yoga certification or experience teaching yoga to seniors
- Water Aerobics certification
- Experience teaching in senior living or assisted living environments
Position Details
- Independent Contractor (1099)
- Part-time / flexible hours
- Compensation: Competitive, based on experience
