As an Educational Aide, you'll work alongside teachers and school staff to provide individualized support to students, encourage positive social interactions, and help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Every day offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
What You'll Do
- Support students to achieve their greatest potential, learn to become independent, make successful transitions and to interact with their peers as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Encourage independence while providing individualized assistance.
- Foster positive relationships and appropriate peer interactions.
- Assist with classroom activities and instructional support.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other educational professionals to support student success.
- Transport students when needed after obtaining required certification.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit (or ability to obtain one before employment).
- Experience working with students with disabilities in the classroom.
- Valid Ohio driver's license.
- Ability to obtain Van Driver Certification within six (6) weeks of employment.
- Ability to obtain ParaPro/ESEA Certification within six (6) weeks of employment.
- Background in sports medicine or exercise science is a plus but not required.
- Successful completion of required criminal background checks.
- A caring attitude, patience, flexibility, and a desire to help students succeed.
Compensation & Schedule
- Salary Range: $17.75 - $20.59 per hour
- Schedule: Up to 29 hours per week
- Work Days: Monday through Friday
