Duties
- Provide exceptional hair styling, coloring, barbering, and beauty services including hair extensions, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and waxing.
- Manage your own client appointments using salon software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms to schedule and track services efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in your station to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.
- Engage with clients through personalized consultations, understanding their needs and recommending suitable treatments or products.
- Upsell retail products related to hair care, skincare, and beauty to enhance client experience and increase revenue.
- Stay current on industry trends by continuously updating skills in hair coloring techniques, hair threading, store management practices, and new beauty treatments.
- Mentor junior team members or when appropriate to foster a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license as required by state or local regulations.
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a strong portfolio of services such as hair styling, coloring, barbering, or specialized treatments like eyelash extensions.
- Skilled in sanitation procedures and maintaining a clean work environment according to health standards.
- Knowledge of color theory, hair care products, retail math for upselling opportunities, and current industry trends.
- Excellent communication skills for effective client consultation and relationship building.
- Ability to work independently while managing your own schedule within the salon’s framework.
- Strong customer service orientation with a passion for helping clients look and feel their best.
