Duties
- Prepare ingredients and components for menu items, including chopping vegetables, portioning proteins, and assembling salads.
- Assist with cooking methods such as grilling, braising, poaching, and food production to ensure timely meal preparation.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Support the kitchen team in high-volume food production, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Help with menu planning by organizing ingredients and preparing special dietary accommodations as needed.
- Ensure proper food handling techniques are followed during all stages of meal preparation and serving.
- Assist with catering events and large orders, maintaining efficiency without compromising quality.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Strong culinary skills including knife proficiency, grilling, braising, poaching, and general food preparation.
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures.
- Experience working in fine dining or high-volume kitchens is advantageous.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving guests and supporting colleagues.
