Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Equipment Operator to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a variety of heavy machinery and construction equipment to support building projects and infrastructure development. Your expertise will help ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse construction sites, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on experience with heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery such as skid steer loaders, backhoes, excavators and other construction equipment with precision and safety.
- Manage the operation of specialized vehicles including concrete mixers, front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, tanker trucks, and farm machinery.
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, and material handling to facilitate construction activities.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment before and after use to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and team members.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks efficiently across various construction phases.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance needs, and operational logs.
Skills
- Proven experience working on construction sites with heavy equipment operation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of construction machinery and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid drivers license or preferably commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience driving large vehicles such as dump trucks, tanker trucks, or front loader trucks.
- Proficiency in operating specific equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, water trucks, roll-off trucks, and farm machinery.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and construction site protocols.
- Ability to read technical manuals and interpret operational instructions effectively.
