Duties
- Deliver patient personal care assistance, including help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status or behavior, especially in residents with dementia, Alzheimer's, or neurodevelopmental disorders
- Assist with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and safety
- Support patient transfer methods using equipment like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer techniques to promote safe manual handling
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption to promote health and well-being
- Provide assistance for medical appointments, errands, or community outings while ensuring safety during transit
- Maintain detailed documentation of patient care activities, observations, and communication with healthcare providers to support ongoing care plans
Experience
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable
- Proven ability to perform patient observation, monitor vital signs, and assist with medication administration reminder in compliance with healthcare standards
- Hands-on experience with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care or caring for individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is preferred
- Familiarity with manual handling techniques such as Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods to ensure safe mobility support
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining client confidentiality in all caregiving activities
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, individuals with intellectual disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders enhances your candidacy
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a safe environment for clients
- Previous experience in personal care REQUIRED
- Hospitality skills: REQUIRED
Physical demands: Frequent to constant standing, walking and using hands.
Frequent twisting, bending stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
MUST be able to lift up 50lbs
Education: High School Diploma/ GED REQUIRED
State Nurse Aid Certification REQUIRED
Current Driver's License
