Senior Electrical Engineer (PE Preferred)
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with 5+ years of experience to join our Phoenix, AZ team. This position will support the design and delivery of complex building projects across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and mission-critical markets. The ideal candidate is a technically strong electrical engineer with experience leading projects, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary design teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering design efforts for assigned projects from concept through construction completion.
- Design electrical power distribution systems, lighting, emergency power, grounding, and low-voltage systems.
- Perform electrical calculations including load analysis, voltage drop, short circuit, and equipment sizing.
- Develop construction documents, specifications, and technical reports.
- Coordinate electrical designs with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural disciplines.
- Review project requirements, codes, and client standards to develop efficient design solutions.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables with Project Managers.
- Participate in client meetings and provide technical guidance.
- Perform construction administration tasks, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site observations.
- Mentor and provide technical direction to junior engineers and designers.
- Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in an A/E consulting environment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (or actively pursuing).
- Strong knowledge of:
- National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Building codes and industry standards
- Electrical power distribution systems
- Lighting design and controls
- Emergency power systems
- Low-voltage systems
- Proficiency with:
- Revit MEP
- AutoCAD
- SKM PowerTools, ETAP, or similar electrical analysis software
- Microsoft Office Suite
