Facility Manager
Monte Vista Child Care Center, Inc. operates six-bed residential facilities serving adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Facility Manager to oversee the daily operation of an assigned residential home.
Under the direction of the QIDP/Administrator, the Facility Manager supervises Direct Care Staff, coordinates resident care, maintains appropriate staffing, and ensures compliance with company policies and applicable requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, guide, and support Direct Care Staff.
- Coordinate staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
- Assist the QIDP with monitoring residents’ Individual Service Plans, behavioral plans, treatment plans, and training objectives.
- Monitor staff documentation and provide training on proper documentation procedures.
- Conduct facility orientation and resident-specific training for staff.
- Provide hands-on direct care and set a positive example for employees.
- Monitor residents’ health, safety, personal care, and overall well-being.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered after completing the required certification.
- Perform basic health-related procedures as instructed and report significant observations.
- Ensure residents receive required recreational activities and community outings.
- Coordinate transportation and accompany residents to appointments when necessary.
- Order and monitor food, household supplies, program materials, and equipment.
- Purchase resident clothing and supplies with QIDP approval.
- Identify and report maintenance and safety concerns.
- Participate in Interdisciplinary Team meetings when requested.
- Attend required in-service training, house meetings, and monthly Facility Manager meetings.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies and applicable state and federal requirements.
- Perform other duties assigned by the QIDP/Administrator.
Qualifications and Requirements
- At least 18 months of experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
- Previous supervisory, lead staff, or facility management experience is preferred.
- Must meet Monte Vista’s Direct Care Staff qualifications.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license and current automobile insurance.
- Must be eligible for approval as a driver by the company’s automobile insurance carrier.
- Must pass a Department of Justice Live Scan fingerprint/background clearance.
- Must complete a physical examination and obtain TB clearance.
- Must obtain and maintain CPR and medication administration certification.
- Must communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
- Must possess strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to supervise employees, manage schedules, and maintain accurate records.
- Must be able to provide hands-on resident care and safely assist with transfers and adaptive equipment when necessary.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and reachable by telephone.
Schedule
This is a full-time, hourly position averaging 40 hours per week. Monte Vista’s residential facilities operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Facility Manager must have flexible availability, which may include occasional weekends, holidays, irregular hours, emergency situations, and extended hours based on the needs of the residents and facility.
The Facility Manager is responsible for coordinating staff schedules and helping ensure appropriate staffing coverage. This position is not being advertised as a formal on-call position. Any overtime must be approved in advance and will be paid according to applicable wage and hour requirements.
Pay and Benefits
- Starting pay: $19.00 per hour

Work Location
This is an in-person position at an assigned Monte Vista residential facility. Employees are hired by Monte Vista and may be assigned or reassigned to another company facility based on operational needs.
