Deli Associate / Cashier / Breakfast Sandwich Maker
Hillside Bagel & Deli is looking for an energetic, reliable, and hardworking team member to join our growing team!
We are seeking someone with experience in a fast-paced bagel shop, deli, or restaurant environment who enjoys providing excellent customer service and working as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and provide outstanding customer service
- Operate the cash register and POS system
- Answer phone calls and take customer orders accurately
- Process and package takeout and delivery orders
- Manage orders from delivery platforms including Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Grubhub
- Prepare breakfast sandwiches, deli sandwiches, and other menu items
- Work on the grill, deli station, cream cheese station, fryer, and bakery area
- Prepare and package bagels, pastries, and bakery items
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment
- Assist with opening and closing duties as needed
- Work efficiently during busy breakfast and lunch hours
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a bagel shop, deli, breakfast restaurant, or fast-paced food service environment preferred
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Experience using POS systems and delivery apps
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Must speak English
- Must be reliable, punctual, and a team player
- Weekend availability is required
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 lbs
