Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Meat Manager to lead our meat department with enthusiasm and expertise. Duties
- Supervise the meat department’s daily operations, including stocking, merchandising, and quality control to ensure freshness and safety standards are met.
- Lead hiring, onboarding, training, and development of team members to build a skilled and motivated retail sales team.
- Manage inventory levels through effective purchasing, stock rotation, and inventory control practices to minimize waste and maximize profitability.
- Oversee pricing strategies, promotional displays, and merchandising initiatives to boost sales and enhance product visibility.
- Handle customer inquiries with professionalism via phone or in person, ensuring excellent customer service and resolving issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of payroll, bookkeeping, cash handling, and shift management activities to support operational efficiency.
- Implement operational management procedures including POS (Point of Sale) system usage, cash register oversight, and store management responsibilities.
Skills
- Strong management skills with proven experience in retail industry sales team management and supervising teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual proficiency to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
- Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, pricing strategies, and inventory management to optimize department performance.
- Demonstrated ability in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development to foster team growth.
- Proficient in retail math including budgeting, sales management, merchandising, and store management principles.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, cashiering operations, and wireless sales is advantageous.
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in stock control, inventory audits, and operational workflows.
- Leadership qualities combined with strong time management abilities to oversee shift management and operational tasks efficiently.
