The Vintage Twin is seeking an Assistant Manager for our store located in the Soho. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and management skills, high emotional intelligence, and a passion for clienteling. You will support your Store Manager in maintaining a healthy, successful team and smooth operation. You will earn commission in addition to your base pay.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Opening/Closing- includes morning huddles, opening and closing cash drawer, assigning zones, daily reports, etc.
- Lead by example on the sales floor by setting the standard for excellent customer service
- Maintain high morale and motivate your team to meet sales goals
- Training and development of team including consistent positive and negative feedback and coaching
- Ensure that all procedures and policies are being followed correctly
- Communicate with Manager on an ongoing basis and report on strengths and weaknesses of team as well as anything else notable in the store
- Assist with inventory and merchandising
- Maintain cleanliness
- Assist with press and stylist pulls
- Assist with team events/gatherings
The right candidate for this role will
- Have at least 1 year of retail management, assistant management, supervisory or key-holding experience
- Be able to work 4 or 5 days per week
- Have a passion for vintage, building a clientele, and styling
- Be easy to talk to, likable and empathetic so the staff will feel comfortable being open about any questions, comments or concerns
- Be highly professional and able to maintain authority and respect
- Be reliable, punctual, and able to work a schedule that includes weekends and holidays
- Be friendly, a "people person" who thrives on providing exemplary customer service
- Be able to provide feedback in a kind, constructive way to get the most out of their team

The Vintage Twin was founded in 2009 by twin sisters Samantha and Morgan Elias. We pioneered the pop-up shop model over the last decade in NYC and now have two permanent stores, which are the epicenter of our brand and the community we are building around it. We take pride in an extremely high level of service, most notably at the famed Jeanius Bar where we pick out the perfect pair of jeans for you. Our store is experiential, and we are looking for an individual who is passionate about creating positive, memorable experiences for all of our clients.
