Lewistown, PA / Full-time — 1099 Independent Contractor
We are looking for a dependable, adaptable Respiratory Therapist to provide in-home vent, trach, and suction services to patients in the Lewistown, PA area. This is a field-based, part-time independent contractor position with structured hours, ideal for an RT who enjoys hands-on, one-on-one patient care in a home setting and is comfortable working across a range of ages, including pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to patients' homes to provide ventilator management, tracheostomy care, and suctioning services
- Assess patient status and equipment function at each visit, addressing any concerns promptly
- Educate patients and caregivers on vent/trach care, suctioning technique, and equipment troubleshooting
- Document visits, clinical observations, and equipment status accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate with referring physicians and internal teams regarding patient status and care needs
- Provide safe, competent care to patients of all ages, including pediatric patients
- Follow all applicable clinical, safety, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active RT license in good standing (New Mexico)
- Required: Experience with ventilator and tracheostomy/suction care
- Comfortable and willing to work with pediatric patients
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to patient homes
- Strong interpersonal and patient education skills
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented with documentation
- Comfortable working independently with a flexible, variable schedule
Schedule & Pay
- Part-time hours based on patient/service needs
- 1099 independent contractor position
- Paid per service provided, plus mileage reimbursement
