ROLE + RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but not limited to)
- Develop design layouts based on customer specifications, using both standard and custom design approaches.
- Create complete and accurate 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Prepare engineering documentation and models for order release to manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot mechanical assemblies and provide technical support internally and to customers.
- Layout customer drawings for processing on lasers, punch and press breaks.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering staff to ensure all customer requirements are met.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel, Office, and Outlook proficiently for documentation, communication, and data analysis.
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of the standard parts library.
- Identify and propose process improvements to enhance team efficiency and product quality.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Support onboarding and training of new team members as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate’s degree in mechanical design or 3+ years in a design role.
- Proficient in mechanical design, sheet metal, and structural steel fabrication.
- Skilled in AutoCAD 2D/3D; SolidWorks experience preferred, PDM a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, with excellent time management and decision-making.
- Effective team player, communicates well, and handles pressure/feedback.
- Multitasks, prioritizes, and manages multiple projects efficiently.
- Eager to learn and follow departmental standards.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel may be required.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Ability to read, interpret, and work from technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong professional references with a proven record of excellent attendance, reliability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
