Our **Youth Care Specialists—known within the Teaching Family Model as Teaching Parents—**play an important role in creating the stability, structure, and encouragement our youth need to heal and grow.

What You'll Do
As a Youth Care Specialist (Teaching Parent), you'll help maintain a safe, structured, supportive, and family-style environment for up to six youth.
Depending on your assigned shift, responsibilities may include:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with youth
- Provide supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of youth
- Maintain a safe and structured environment during evening, overnight, and weekend hours
- Assist youth with bedtime, morning, weekend, and daily routines
- Teach life skills such as communication, responsibility, hygiene, cooking, and problem-solving
- Encourage positive behavior using the nationally recognized Teaching Family Model
- Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviors or situations
- Administer medications after required training
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time
- Communicate important information to incoming and outgoing staff
- Work closely with therapists, educators, case managers, and other team members to support each youth's treatment goals
- Transport youth to appointments, activities, family visits, or community outings when needed
Whether you're helping a young person through a difficult evening, providing stability overnight, or spending a weekend teaching everyday life skills, your presence matters.
No Experience? We Can Teach You.
Previous experience working with children, teens, behavioral health, foster care, residential treatment, or trauma-informed care is helpful, but not required.
We provide paid training in the Teaching Family Model, along with ongoing coaching and professional development.

We're Looking for Someone Who Is
- Compassionate, patient, and dependable

- Comfortable working overnight and/or weekend hours
- Able to stay awake, alert, and attentive throughout overnight shifts
- Comfortable setting healthy and consistent boundaries
- A positive role model for children and teens
- Able to remain calm during challenging situations
- A strong communicator
- Team-oriented and willing to learn
- Able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
- Ability to pass required background checks and drug screening
- Ability to meet physical requirements of the position
- Ability to obtain CPR, MedAide, and other required certifications (training provided)
Scheduling Opportunities
We are specifically seeking applicants interested in:
- Overnight shifts
- Weekend shifts
- Part-time schedules
- PRN / as-needed coverage
PRN team members may help provide coverage for staff absences, vacations, open shifts, weekends, and other scheduling needs.
Availability for overnight and weekend shifts is especially valuable.
