Position Summary
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) / Vault Teller is a dual-role position in a small branch environment that requires flexibility, accuracy, and strong customer service skills. The CSR operates a teller window and performs a full range of banking transactions while providing support to customers with account inquiries, service needs, and new account openings. The CSR also rotates weekly into the role of Vault Teller, where they are responsible for maintaining and balancing the vault, distributing and receiving teller cash, and overseeing mail and night drop responsibilities in dual control.
Key Responsibilities:
Daily Teller/CSR Duties:
- Operate a cash drawer, process customer deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other transactions.
- Balance personal cash drawer daily and report discrepancies immediately.
- Perform daily drawer trial balancing and participate in branch balancing procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service in-person and over the phone, including but not limited to assisting with account inquiries, resolving issues, and providing account and product education, fraud disputes, account maintenance and debit card maintenance.
- Open new checking, savings, and certificate of deposit accounts, ensuring full compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Process account closures, charge offs, and dormant accounts per Bank policies as directed by the Branch Manager.
- Verify customer identity using Watchdog or other identification systems and perform fraud prevention procedures.
- Contact customers on the overdraft list and assist with resolution.
- Make proactive outbound calls for upcoming Certificate of Deposit (CD) renewals.
- Log and process incoming mail payments daily.
- Log and process night drop deposits and loan payments.
- Weekly ATM balancing, replenishment, and discrepancy resolution.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills for data entry tasks.
- Experience in customer service or client services roles, preferably within a call center environment.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable to cater to a diverse clientele.
- Familiarity with sales techniques and analysis skills to identify customer needs effectively.
- Ability to handle cash transactions responsibly with attention to detail in cash handling processes.
- Typing proficiency to ensure efficient documentation of customer interactions.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
