Job Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible for managing the company’s measurement systems and calibration program to ensure compliance with aerospace, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role owns the control, calibration, and verification of all tools, gages, and measurement equipment used in manufacturing and quality operations. The position supports AS9100 compliance, customer audits, and continuous improvement through accurate, traceable measurements.
Responsabilities

- Own and maintain the tool and gage calibration system in accordance with AS9100, customer-specific, and regulatory requirements
- Establish and maintain calibration intervals, methods, and acceptance criteria
- Ensure all measurement equipment is traceable to NIST or international standards
- Review calibration data, assess trends, and recommend interval adjustments
- Manage out-of-tolerance (OOT) conditions, including impact analysis and documented disposition
- Responsible for performing Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS) and System Accuracy Tests (SAT) in accordance with AMS 2750, P10TF5 and customer aerospace requirements. This role supports heat treat compliance, product quality, and regulatory adherence by ensuring furnace systems operate within specified accuracy and uniformity limits
- Perform Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS) on furnaces and ovens per AMS 2750 & P10TF5 requirements
- Conduct System Accuracy Tests (SAT), including sensor, instrument, and recording system verification
- Install, remove, and verify thermocouples per specification and survey class requirements
- Verify furnace instrumentation, control loops, recorders, and data acquisition systems
- Set up pyrometry equipment including:
- Data loggers
- Reference instruments
- Calibrated thermocouples
- Review furnace documentation to ensure:
- Proper furnace classification
- Correct survey frequency
- Valid calibration intervals
- Identify and document out-of-tolerance conditions
- Communicate results to Quality, Engineering, and Heat Treat personnel
- Generate accurate, traceable pyrometry reports and survey records
- High school diploma required; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, instrumentation, or related field preferred.
- 2+ years of calibration, instrumentation, or pyrometry experience in aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing (AMS 2750 experience strongly preferred).
- Strong understanding of measurement principles, thermocouple types, and temperature‑control systems.
- Familiarity with NADCAP requirements, audits, and documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical standards, engineering drawings, and calibration instructions.
- Proficiency with calibration tools such as dry blocks, temperature baths, multimeters, pressure calibrators, and data acquisition systems.
- Excellent documentation, organizational, and time‑management skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and in cross‑functional teams.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma required; technical certification or associate degree in electronics, instrumentation, or related field preferred.
