Duties
- Consult with clients to understand their hair styling preferences and recommend suitable braiding techniques, extensions, or color treatments
- Perform a variety of braiding styles including box braids, cornrows, twists, and intricate updos with precision and artistry
- Use salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently
- Maintain proper sanitation standards by cleaning tools, stations, and work areas in accordance with health regulations
- Apply hair coloring techniques based on color theory principles to achieve desired shades and effects
- Assist clients with hair care advice, product recommendations, and retail sales to enhance their overall experience
- Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques and best practices to foster skill development and teamwork
Experience
- Proven experience working as a professional hair braider or in the beauty industry with a strong portfolio of braided styles
- Knowledge of salon management software like MINDBODY for appointment scheduling and client management
- Familiarity with hair extensions, hair coloring, hair threading, barbering techniques, and advanced styling methods
- Strong understanding of sanitation protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
- Excellent communication skills for client consultations and retail upselling opportunities
- Experience using salon tools such as straight razors responsibly for detailing or finishing touches
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
