Seeking a nurturing, creative, and dedicated Lead Teacher to support the development of our youngest learners - from 18 months to Pre-K. We provide a warm, inclusive, and engaging environment where children are encouraged to explore, grow, and thrive.
Position Summary
The Lead Teacher is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, fostering social-emotional growth, and maintain a structured, supportive classroom environment. This role serves children ages 18 months through Pre-K and requires a strong foundation in early childhood education, classroom leadership, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a welcoming and organized environment each morning. Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging space throughout the day.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the center's curriculum and support key areas of development.
- Guide children toward meeting developmental milestones through interactive, play-based and structured learning experiences.
- Encourage independence, curiosity, and confidence in each child.
- Create a respectful and consistent environment that promotes positive behavior and healthy peer interactions.
- Model and reinforce interpersonal skills such as sharing, turn-taking, and using appropriate language.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians.
- Participate in biannual parent-teacher conferences and provide as-needed updates to support each child's progress.
- Work collaboratively with assistant teacher, colleagues, and leadership to foster a positive learning environment.
- Participate in the care and maintenance of shared spaces, including classrooms, the kitchen, playground, and synagogue areas.
- Assist with general upkeep tasks such as cleaning, sanitizing toys and surfaces, and supporting transitions throughout the day.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience with children ages 18 months to 5 years preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for early childhood education and a warm, patient teaching style.
- Flexibility, dependability, and a team-oriented mindset.
