Job Purpose Summary:
Responsible for operating a 26' Box Truck while maintaining compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Fully understand how to operate and safely drive commercial vehicles with a GCWR of 26,001lbs or more, with a towed weight of less than 10,000lbs.
· Responsible for proper loading and securing of freight to prevent movement and allow safe transport. Assist in loading and loading as required.
· Willing to load/unload and assist in operations at the terminal as required.
· Maintain accurate records and logs in accordance with DOT and company policy.
· Perform and document pre-trip inspections, on-the-road inspection, and post-trip inspections.
· Maneuver and control the vehicle in a safe fashion, which includes handling the vehicle on-site and in over-the-road situations, proper signaling, searching for hazards, controlling speed, lane positioning, matching speeds to road conditions, and the ability to drive during the daytime or nighttime.
· Knowledge and adherence to Hours-of-Service regulations, maintaining ELD/paper logs to track and report duty hours.
· Wiling to work stand by hours
· Keeping the vehicles interior and exterior clean and in good condition.
· Perform job functions in a safe manner to avoid personal injury and equipment damage
· Maintaining valid license and certifications.
· Any additional duties assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
