Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in need of care. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly in a private care home setting. Caregivers will work closely with elderly clients who may need assistance with activities of daily living, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Looking for 7am-7pm 3 days a week.
Responsibilities (may include some of the following)
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients' mental well-being.
- Monitor and record clients' health status and report any changes to the appropriate personnel.
- Help with mobility and physical exercises as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote interaction and mental stimulation.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop personalized care plans tailored to individual needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or related fields such as assisted living or senior care is preferred.
- Familiarity with working with individuals with dementia preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with caregiving duties (lifting, standing for long periods).
- Basic cooking skills for meal preparation helpful, but not required
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is an advantage but not required at hiring.
This is a residential home where seniors live and are cared for by qualified caregivers. This is in a home environment, not a large scale facility setting.
