Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technician with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures especially in Penile Ultrasound. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of imaging techniques, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a healthcare setting.
As an Ultrasound Technician, you will be responsible for operating ultrasound equipment, capturing high-quality diagnostic images, and assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. You must be detail-oriented, technically proficient, and compassionate in providing care to patients.
Key Responsibilities:Patient Care & Imaging Procedures
- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations following physician orders and established protocols.
- Explain ultrasound procedures to patients to ensure comfort and cooperation.
- Position patients properly to obtain the best possible images.
- Apply appropriate sonographic techniques to ensure high-resolution images for diagnostic interpretation.
- Assess images for quality and make necessary adjustments to optimize visualization.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and report any equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain proper sterilization and hygiene protocols for ultrasound probes and equipment.
Documentation & Compliance
- Accurately document patient information and scan results in the electronic medical record system.
- Ensure all procedures adhere to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
- Follow safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with hospital, state, and federal regulations.
Collaboration & Professional Development
- Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic imaging.
- Assist with specialized procedures such as biopsies or vascular studies, as needed.
- Stay updated on advancements in ultrasound technology and participate in continuing education programs.
Qualifications & Requirements: Education & Certification:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Technology, or a related field.
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification or equivalent.
- Additional certifications in Abdomen (RDMS-AB), Obstetrics/Gynecology (RDMS-OB/GYN), Vascular (RVT), or Cardiac Sonography (RDCS) are highly preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification required.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technician in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Especially in Penile Ultrasound.
- Experience in performing general, obstetric, gynecologic, vascular, or cardiac ultrasounds is a plus.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics, anatomy, and pathology.
- Proficiency in operating various ultrasound machines and software.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, informed decisions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow standardized imaging protocols.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40.00 - $44.00 per hour
