Family owned and operated Local Trucking and Excavating company is looking for a highly skilled diesel mechanic to join our team. If you have a passion for heavy equipment, strong mechanical skills, and diesel experience, this your chance to make a significant impact in a local, growing company.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment including excavators, skid loaders, bulldozers, and diesel trucks and trailers.
- Conduct regular inspections on machines to ensure all systems are functioning properly.
- Troubleshoot issues relating to hydraulics, transmissions, air brakes, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on all machines such as oil changes, filter changes, grease jobs, etc.
- Occasionally perform on-site emergency repairs.
- Always follow safety protocols and technical procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and tires.
- Able to proficiently use hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance tools for repairs.
- Ability to diagnose issues correctly using electrical experience and mechanical expertise.
- Must come equipped with a set of tools necessary for the role.
- CDL license NOT required but preferred.
