Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling ingredients efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations to uphold food safety and sanitation standards
- Monitor food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Support kitchen operations during busy service hours by managing multiple orders simultaneously
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service and guest satisfaction
Requirements
- Proven experience in a restaurant or food service environment, preferably as a line cook or culinary assistant
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with meal preparation, food industry standards, and kitchen equipment usage
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
