Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Concrete Form Setter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and securing formwork structures that shape concrete during construction projects. Your expertise will ensure that concrete is poured accurately and safely, adhering to blueprints and specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from commercial buildings to renovation sites, contributing to the creation of durable, high-quality structures. A strong foundation in construction practices, safety regulations, and technical skills is essential to excel in this role.
Duties
- Set up and assemble formwork systems using hand tools, power tools, and schematics to create molds for concrete pouring
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans to ensure precise form placement and alignment
- Install rebar reinforcement within forms to strengthen concrete structures according to specifications
- Operate concrete mixers, pumps, and cutting tools to facilitate efficient concrete pouring and finishing processes
- Ensure all formwork is securely supported and level, adhering strictly to safety standards and project timelines
- Assist with concrete pouring, finishing, and sealing (caulking) to achieve smooth surfaces and structural integrity
- Conduct inspections of formwork during construction projects, making adjustments as needed for quality control and safety compliance
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction tools, equipment operation, and formwork systems
- Construction estimating skills for planning materials and labor needs effectively
- Experience with rebar installation, metal stud framing, masonry, and other related trades
- Proficiency in interpreting schematics, blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment at all times
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as cranes or forklifts when required on site
- Strong carpentry skills including trim carpentry, framing, roofing, stucco application, and restoration work
- Familiarity with concrete finishing techniques like troweling and surface smoothing
- Experience with concrete cutting, concrete pumping, tile laying, flooring installation, and plastering processes
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during form setup or demolition tasks
