Duties
- Perform intricate hair braiding styles, loc maintenance, and advanced hair styling techniques tailored to client preferences
- Install, customize, and maintain hair extensions and wigs with precision and care
- Provide expert consultations on hair care routines, styling options, and product recommendations
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene in all services performed
- Use salon software systems such as Gloss Genius for appointment scheduling, client records, and retail sales management
- Educate clients on hair health, styling tips, and retail product upselling to enhance their experience
- Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, managing bookings, and ensuring smooth salon operations
- Mentor junior team members in technical skills and customer service excellence to foster a collaborative environment
Requirements
- Proven expertise in hair extensions, braiding techniques (including box braids, twists), loc styling, and wig customization
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license as required by state regulations
- Strong knowledge of color theory for hair coloring services and blending extensions seamlessly
- Proficiency with salon management software such as Gloss Genius; experience with retail math and upselling strategies is a plus
- Skilled in sanitation practices to ensure a safe and clean environment for clients and staff
- Excellent communication skills to understand client needs and provide personalized recommendations
- Experience with eyelash extensions, makeup application, nail care or related beauty services is desirable but not mandatory
- Ability to manage store operations including retail sales, front desk responsibilities, and mentoring team members effectively
