Position: Duct and Attic Install Apprentice
Company: Knights of the Attic, LLC
Type: Full-Time
Pay: Service Rate Pay Plan (variable based on efficiency)
Start Building a Better Trade Career
If you're dependable, hardworking, coachable, and interested in building a real career in the trades, this may be the opportunity you've been looking for.
You don't need years of HVAC, ductwork, or insulation experience to start here. What matters most is your attitude, reliability, work ethic, willingness to learn, and ability to work safely in a physical job.
Knights of the Attic is building something different in the Phoenix market.
Where KOTA Comes In
We specialize in duct and attic renovation. We don't sell or service HVAC equipment. Instead, we solve the hidden attic, duct, airflow, insulation, and home-performance problems that cause hot and cold rooms, high energy bills, dust, poor airflow, and poor indoor air quality.
Many homeowners spend thousands on new HVAC systems and still have comfort problems because the real issue isn't always the equipment. It's often the duct system, airflow, insulation, attic conditions, and the way the home is performing.
Why This Role Is Different
A lot of entry-level trade jobs treat new people like helpers. Carry this. Grab that. Clean this up. Stay busy, but don't expect much of a path.
That is not what we're trying to build.
At KOTA, the Apprentice Installer role is a real development role. You'll work alongside a Lead Installer, learn how professional duct and attic renovation projects are completed, and build the skills needed to grow into higher-level installation roles.
This role offers:
- A real path from Apprentice Installer to Lead Installer and beyond.
- A more stable trade path than seasonal HVAC install work.
- A specialized skill set most companies aren't teaching.
- A chance to grow your income as your skill and performance improve.
- A team that wants to develop installers, not just use helpers.
Earn More as You Grow
This is not meant to be a dead-end hourly job where your pay stays the same no matter how much better you get.
Our service-rate pay structure is designed to reward growth, effort, efficiency, and performance. As an Apprentice Installer develops skill, works well with the Lead Installer, stays productive, learns the system, and contributes to safe, clean, efficient job completion, they create more opportunity for themselves.
The better you become, the more valuable you become. The more value you bring to the crew, the more opportunity you have to grow your income and move toward higher-level roles.
Who Wins in This Role
This opportunity may be a strong fit if you:
- Show up on time and ready to work.
- Want to learn a skilled trade.
- Can work hard in hot, dusty, tight, physical conditions.
- Follow direction without needing to be babysat.
- Ask questions instead of guessing.
- Accept coaching and correction.
- Respect customers' homes.
- Want to grow instead of staying stuck in a helper role.
Build Skills Beyond Installation
This role can open doors beyond basic install work. Strong field team members may have opportunities to learn design support, commissioning, airflow testing, air balancing, quality verification, field training, project review, and install supervision.
You don't need to know everything on day one. You do need to care, listen, work hard, and improve.
Benefits & Support
Benefits may include:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Paid time off, paid holidays, and sick pay.
- 401(k) retirement plan.
- Tool account or tool-purchase support, when applicable.
- Ongoing training and career development.
- Clear path for advancement into Lead Installer and field leadership roles.
The Work Is Hard — That's Why the Opportunity Is Real
You'll work in Arizona attics, around insulation, in tight spaces, on ladders, and inside customers' homes. The job requires physical effort, focus, safety awareness, and professionalism.
But if you're going to work hard anyway, the real question is whether that hard work is building something for you.
At KOTA, an Apprentice Installer has the opportunity to turn effort, reliability, coachability, and skill development into a real career path.
