Purpose: The Substitute Teacher provides instructional support and classroom coverage across RISE campuses as needed. This position ensures continuity of learning by implementing lesson plans, maintaining a positive learning environment, and supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students. The Substitute Teacher must be flexible, adaptable, and willing to travel between assigned campuses to meet staffing needs.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree preferred; minimum educational requirements consistent with state substitute teaching requirements.

Valid Substitute Teaching License, Professional Educator License, or other state-required credentials.

Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred.

Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Ability to adapt quickly to different grade levels, subject areas, and school environments.

Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between RISE campuses.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: *other duties may be assigned

Provide classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher.

Implement lesson plans and instructional activities as provided by campus administration or classroom teachers.

Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.

Manage student behavior in accordance with RISE policies and procedures.

Monitor student progress and provide feedback to administrators and teachers regarding classroom activities.

Support students with diverse learning needs and encourage positive student engagement.

Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch periods, and other assigned duties.

Communicate professionally with staff, students, and families when appropriate.

Utilize educational technology and classroom resources effectively.

Travel between designated RISE campuses as assigned to provide instructional coverage.

Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Complete required documentation and reports related to substitute assignments.
