Job Overview
Roslyn Home Care is looking for a compassionate, dependable caregiver to support a wonderful 78-year-old woman who is working to regain her strength and independence following a recent hospitalization. This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships and helping seniors stay active, engaged, and living independently.
Schedule
- Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
- 9:30 AM – 1:30 PM
- Additional hours may be available for appointments or community outings.
Responsibilities
- Personal care assistance (dressing and showering)
- Medication reminders
- Meal preparation and hydration encouragement
- Light housekeeping and organization
- Companion care and conversation
- Memory and cognitive engagement activities
- Encourage walking and prescribed PT/OT exercises
- Community outings (coffee, grocery shopping, gardening, parks, etc.)
- Transportation to appointments (when needed)
- Daily documentation of meals, mood, activities, and observations
We're Looking For Someone Who Is:
MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORTATION
- Patient, kind, and dependable
- Passionate about helping older adults maintain their independence
- Comfortable encouraging participation in activities and exercise
- Organized and able to document daily observations
- Comfortable assisting with mobility and fall prevention
- A great communicator with both clients and families
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience caring for seniors
- Experience with dementia or memory care is a plus
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable vehicle with valid driver's license and insurance
- Ability to pass a background check
