Contract Art Painter – Amaryllis Event Design House | Hyattsville, MD
Compensation: $22.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience

Amaryllis Event Design House is a premier event production company that brings luxury, creativity, and sophistication to every celebration. Our team transforms spaces into immersive artistic experiences, and we’re looking for a skilled Art Painter to support our custom event production work.
We’re seeking an experienced and motivated painter who thrives with a brush, spray gun, and creative vision. This is not a graphic design position. The ideal contractor will have strong decorative painting skills and the ability to execute detailed, high-quality finishes based on artistic direction and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute custom paint work on a variety of materials and surfaces for event décor
- Follow artistic direction and accurately replicate existing styles, colors, and finishes
- Apply faux finishing techniques, texture painting, murals, and decorative finishes
- Perform accurate color and stain matching to meet project specifications
- Operate airless sprayers, siphon-feed guns, sanders, and other hand tools
- Work independently on assigned projects while collaborating with the Amaryllis production team
- Support both in-house production and on-site event installations as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Complete assigned work within established project deadlines and quality standards
Requirements
- 1–2 years of professional painting experience, preferably in artistic, decorative, scenic, or event-related settings
- Proven ability to replicate painting styles and execute high-detail work
- Experience with faux finishes, murals, texturing, and surface preparation
- Proficiency with airless and siphon-feed sprayers, sanders, and basic hand tools
- Ability to lift 35+ lbs. and handle large or heavy materials
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong initiative, creativity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
- Availability to support projects requiring weekday, evening, and/or weekend work, depending on project needs
Independent Contractor
This is an independent contractor position, not an employee position. The contractor will be responsible for their own applicable taxes, insurance, benefits, and other business-related expenses unless otherwise agreed to in writing. Work will be assigned based on Amaryllis project needs, with an expected workload of approximately 25–45 hours per week when projects are available.
This contract position may provide an opportunity to transition to a full-time position based on performance, experience, project needs, and mutual fit. Any transition to full-time employment would be subject to a separate offer and agreement.
