American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Outpatient Hematology Oncology Clinic position requiring chemotherapy certification and EPIC charting experience.

Work in an outpatient hematology oncology clinic setting
-
Care for patients undergoing chemotherapy and related treatments
-
Candidates will float within scope of practice if needed
-
10-hour day shifts, 0730-1800, four days per week
-
Rotating day off falls between Monday and Wednesday
-
Uses EPIC charting system
-
Active RN license (VA or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
-
BLS certification required
-
Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
-
OCN certification preferred
-
Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, including at least 1 year of chemotherapy experience

BSN preferred; diploma and Associate degree graduates from ACEN or CCNE accredited programs also accepted
-
EPIC charting experience required
-
Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central line and PICC line care
-
Experience administering and monitoring chemotherapy (IV push, continuous infusion, oral administration)
-
Skilled in symptom management for chemotherapy side effects
-
Experience caring for patients with various cancer diagnoses including breast, lung, colorectal, and blood cancers
-
Knowledge of isolation precautions, neutropenic precautions, and biotherapy side effect management
-
2 professional references required (supervisor level or above)

Provide direct patient care including chemotherapy administration, port and line management, and symptom monitoring
-
Recognize and communicate abnormal lab values and manage treatment side effects
-
Facility maintains a natural nail policy
-
Drug, tobacco, and smoke-free workplace with no smoking allowed on campus

Modules assigned during orientation must be completed by the Friday of orientation week
-
Local candidates accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions
-
Travelers and former VCU Health employees must have been separated from VCU Health for at least six to twelve months prior to starting
-
Time-off requests must be submitted for consideration at time of application; no time off granted during the first week of assignment

Candidates should not exceed 40 hours per week unless approved by the unit manager
-
First-time travelers may be considered for this position
