Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with warmth and enthusiasm, ensuring they feel comfortable and engaged from the moment they arrive
- Conduct wine tastings, educating guests on varietals, tasting notes, and pairing suggestions to enhance their experience
- Assist customers in selecting wines by leveraging your knowledge of wine styles, regions, and food pairings
- Operate POS systems such as Commerce7 accurately for sales transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Upsell products by identifying guest preferences and recommending additional wines or merchandise to increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the tasting room, ensuring all wine bottles, glasses, and serving areas meet safety standards
- Support menu planning efforts by providing feedback on popular tastings or new product offerings
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional service during busy periods, including banquet or special event service when needed
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment with a focus on customer interaction and sales
- Knowledge of wine service techniques and familiarity with wine regions, varietals, and tasting procedures
- Experience using POS systems
- Background in food handling, food safety standards, and meal preparation is preferred
- Strong sales skills with an ability to upsell effectively while maintaining a genuine customer-focused approach
- Hospitality experience in fine dining or banquet settings is highly desirable
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team in fast-paced environments while delivering outstanding customer service
