Assistant Director – Early Education Center
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate, organized, and dedicated Assistant Director to help lead our early education center. The ideal candidate has a genuine love for working with young children, strong leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of Tennessee child care licensing regulations. This individual will work closely with the Center Director to ensure high-quality care, maintain compliance, support staff, and foster positive relationships with families.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Center Director with the daily operations of the center.
- Ensure compliance with all Tennessee Department of Human Services child care licensing regulations.
- Support, mentor, and coach teaching staff to maintain high-quality educational programs.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff through effective communication.
- Assist with staff scheduling, classroom coverage, and enrollment processes.
- Maintain accurate child, staff, and licensing records using Procare.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to staff.
- Help onboard and train new employees.
- Address parent questions and concerns professionally and promptly.
- Assist with licensing visits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for all children.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a licensed early childhood education setting.
- Knowledge of Tennessee child care licensing regulations.
- Experience using Procare child care management software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Leadership experience or supervisory experience preferred.
- Passion for early childhood education and child development.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass required background checks.

Pay: $42,863.59 - $55,233.57 per year
