Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team, dedicated to ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of a diverse fleet of trailers and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical expertise, Aluminum and Steel welding experience, including diagnostic skills and hands-on experience with various vehicle systems. Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on trailers, including brake systems, suspensions, axles, and electrical components.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as tire service, fluid changes, and component replacements to ensure vehicle longevity.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
- Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding and fabrication tools to meet specific repair requirements.
- Repair heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery.
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, and HVAC components.
- Perform alignment procedures and suspension repairs to maintain vehicle safety standards.
- Use power tools and hand tools efficiently for assembly, disassembly, and repair tasks.
- Conduct welding repairs on trailers or equipment frames as needed.
- Maintain detailed service records for each vehicle or piece of equipment serviced.
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Support the team in heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate lifting equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a trailer mechanic or heavy equipment mechanic with dealership or industrial background preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive systems including transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting complex vehicle issues.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and metalworking.
- Proficiency in diagnosing diesel engines and heavy truck repair procedures.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems repair including lighting, sensors, and wiring harnesses.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators, cranes, forklifts safely.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs.
- Strong customer service orientation with effective communication skills for interacting with clients or team members.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions.

Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
