Position Summary
The Safety Manager is responsible for emphasizing training and reporting on the branches' annual safety efforts. Success in the position is indicated by compliance with all company policies and procedures related to safety, including but not limited to proper incident investigations, reporting, documentation, and the branch's ability to maintain a low incident rating in all categories of incidents. (Workers Comp, General Liability, and Auto Accidents) The Safety Manager also administers and records weekly tailgate topics and attendance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that the branches have all the proper tools and equipment in place for employees to work safely and efficiently.
- Follow the written policies and procedures in the supervisor's manual for proper reporting, investigation, and documentation of all incidents.
- Effectively communicate all safety-related items to the branch through supervisors' meetings, tailgate meetings, and all other means necessary to ensure the branch's safest operation.
- Effectively monitor the safe operation of the branch through the use of not limited to AM inspections and announced and unannounced site inspections.
- Participation in annual or bi-annual training related to safety. Ex: ( OSHA 10 hr., First Aid and CPR )
