SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The part time Extra Help worker will play a vital role responsible for providing efficient, day-to-day customer service and direct interaction with library users, providing assistance with resources, including circulation, and ensuring a positive library experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Checking materials in and out
- Assisting patrons with finding and using library resources
- Works to resolve patron inquiries and issues
- Greets library patrons
- Perform other duties as assigned by full time library staff and Brightspace staff
- Works scheduled hours which may include some evening and weekend hours
Required skills/abilities:
- Deliver courteous customer service
- Follow directions and campus/library policies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization
- Work independently or as part of a team
- Demonstrate reliability and strong attendance
- Stay detail-oriented and organized in a fast-paced environment
Education and Experience:
- Proven ability to interact effectively with the public
- Some proficiency in Microsoft Office products is preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Stand for extended periods of time
- Reach overhead and bend or crouch as needed
- Lift and move items up to 50 lbs
