Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cannabis Retail Shop Manager to lead our retail operations with enthusiasm and expertise. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise retail staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations to ensure high standards of customer service and operational excellence
- Manage daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, POS system management, and shift scheduling
- Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, purchasing decisions, and merchandising to maximize sales opportunities and minimize shrinkage
- Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets while maintaining compliance with legal regulations governing cannabis sales
- Conduct employee orientation sessions, training programs, and ongoing development initiatives to enhance team skills in sales techniques, product knowledge, and customer engagement
- Handle customer inquiries professionally, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure an overall positive shopping experience
- Maintain accurate records of payroll, bookkeeping, sales reports, inventory logs, and other administrative documentation using POS systems and management software
Skills
- Proven management experience within retail environments with strong leadership capabilities in supervising teams and managing store operations
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable for diverse customer engagement
- Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, pricing strategies, and sales management to drive revenue growth
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively across inventory management, merchandising, staffing schedules, and administrative duties
- Proficient in POS systems, cash handling procedures, bookkeeping software, and retail math for accurate financial transactions
- Experience in recruiting talent through interviewing processes and employee orientation programs
- Knowledge of retail industry best practices including marketing initiatives, product knowledge in cannabis or related sectors, and operational management principles
- Ability to manage budgets effectively while maintaining compliance with legal standards for cannabis retailing
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on team development through training & development initiatives
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
