Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery for an 8-week travel/contract assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN with strong Labor & Delivery experience who is committed to providing exceptional care to mothers and newborns in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Assignment Details
- Position: Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery
- Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Contract Length: 8 Weeks
- Schedule: 36 Hours per Week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
- Pay Rate: $54/hour
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients.
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being throughout labor and delivery.
- Assist physicians and healthcare providers during labor, delivery, and emergency obstetric procedures.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
- Educate patients and families regarding labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
- Accurately document patient care using the Cerner electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Louisiana or Compact License).
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification.
- Previous Labor & Delivery nursing experience required.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Experience with Cerner EMR is preferred.
