We are seeking a FULL TIME cook for our childcare center.
This person is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast, lunch and snack daily, As well as the cleanup of meals, food ordering and the daily operation of the kitchen.
This person must follow State Regulations, CACFP guidelines, and the Center’s policies and procedures.
This person shall have knowledge of the basic principles of good nutrition, have good personal hygiene habits, and should sincerely be interested in working with young children.
Job Requirements
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
- Experience in meal preparation and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Familiarity with following a menu and a recipe.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively daycare staff.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift 20 lbs. or more and be able to climb steps.
- A positive attitude and willingness to help others.
Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack daily for daycare children and staff.
- Prepare and serve food based on required State and CACFP standards.
- Document and record meal services daily.
- Adjust meal preparations to accommodate children with allergies or special dietary needs.
- Know and follow all health and sanitary practices for food preparation and clean up
- Clean and Sanitize the kitchen and food preparation areas after meals and at the end of each day, including but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, taking out trash
- Manage inventory, prepare, and order food supplies/ Rotate stock
- Keep kitchen ready for health inspections at all times
