Maintenance Technician
Kurt Weiss Greenhouses is seeking a reliable and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position plays a vital role in keeping our greenhouse facilities, equipment, and systems operating safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of greenhouse equipment and facilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and irrigation issues
- Inspect equipment and systems to identify maintenance needs and prevent downtime
- Assist with maintenance of greenhouse heating, ventilation, and environmental control systems
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized, clean manner
- Support greenhouse operations with special projects and seasonal tasks as needed
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests to ensure uninterrupted operations
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance, mechanical, construction, or related experience preferred
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, welding, or equipment repair is a plus
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Dependable attendance and a positive work ethic
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and weather conditions
- Capability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk up to 5 miles a day
