Pioneer College Caterers oversees the dining services at Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Mt. Vernon, OH.
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Service and Retail Manager to manage our resident dining program, snack bar, and catered functions. This pivotal role combines management expertise with culinary passion, ensuring exceptional customer experiences across diverse dining environments.
As a Service and Retail Manager, you will oversee daily dining room activities, coordinate retail services at 586, and motivate your team to deliver outstanding hospitality.
Your leadership will drive operational excellence, uphold food safety standards, and foster a welcoming atmosphere that keeps guests coming back.
Duties
- Responsible for maintaining service and presentation standards in the serving area, dining room, and 586. Must be detail orientated and comfortable delegating tasks to service staff
- Must be comfortable connecting and interacting with students, faculty/staff, clients, and community guests
- Maintains high levels of food safety and sanitation in the serving area
- Experience with campus dining preferred, but not required. Other hospitality and customer service experience accepted
- Willing to work in fast paced environment
- Prior experience with training of employees desired
- Seeking individual that will become part of the management team
- Provides direction and supervision of PCC and student employees
- Service/Retail manager must possess desire and ability to work/communicate effectively with students
- Oversees some FT and PT employees but mostly student employees working.
- Responsible for cashier station: staffing and reconciliation of drawers
- Provides support as needed for catered events as needed
- Responds to customer/client requests promptly and with graciousness
- Capable of seeing and solving problems and service issues with minimal direction
- Seeking career minded individual with willingness to grow with PCC
- Basic understanding of computers and use of Microsoft Office
Pay: $700.00 - $775.00 per week
