American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Hospice/Palliative Care position in a home health setting, requiring at least 1 year of home health or hospice experience and an active ME or compact RN license.

Home health/hospice setting serving Lincoln County out of the Newcastle, ME office
-
Caseload of 14–18 patients based on acuity, with an expectation of 5–6 visits or units per day and a minimum productivity of 25 units per week

Adult patient population including med/surg, oncology, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, wound care, GI, and GU patients

Day shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Every other weekend required

On-call rotation is shared among all staff nurses, estimated at approximately 1 weekday per week and 1 weekend per month; weekday on-call runs 5:00 PM–8:00 AM and weekend on-call runs Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 8:00 AM

Procedures include in-home infusion pump management; no ventilators or invasive monitoring

Preferred skills include PICC line care/dressing changes, trach care, port access, ostomy care, chest tubes, Pleurex drains, suprapubic catheters, and lab draws (UA/C&S)

EMR: Epic (experience required)

No floating requirements

Active ME RN license or compact RN license currently in hand

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of home health or hospice experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Valid Driver's License required for consideration

SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsible for independently case managing and self-scheduling patient visits as a hospice case manager

Collaborative team approach with good communication skills and openness to feedback are valued traits for this role

Dress code: business casual or scrubs (any color); no jeans, open-toed shoes, or clothing with holes

Clinician is provided a laptop, iPhone, nursing supply bin, nursing bag with vital signs equipment, and agency bag — all must be returned at end of assignment

Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility (ME or NH residents) are considered local and are not eligible for renewals or extensions
