Position Summary
W.E. Beaty, Inc. is seeking an experienced Trencher Operator to join our footing crew. This position is responsible for safely operating a ride-on trenching machine to excavate residential footings according to layout specifications. The ideal candidate has experience working in residential concrete construction, possesses a valid Class A CDL, and is committed to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Operate trenching equipment to excavate residential footings according to grade and layout.
- Supervise and direct the footing crew to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
- Safely transport trenching equipment and trailers to and from job sites using a Class A CDL vehicle.
- Read and understand site plans, stakes, and layouts.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Help pour, place, and finish concrete footings as needed.
- Ensure trenches are dug to proper depth, width, and grade.
- Assist footing crew with job site preparation and cleanup as needed.
- Load, unload, and secure equipment for transportation.
- Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, foremen, and crew members.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL (Required)
- Clean driving record and ability to meet company insurance requirements.
- Current DOT Medical Card or ability to obtain one.
- Previous experience operating trenching equipment preferred.
- Experience in residential concrete or foundation construction preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
