Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs, product questions, and store inquiries.
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and perform cash handling duties with precision.
- Upsell products and promote store specials or new items to enhance sales opportunities.
- Conduct product demos when applicable to showcase features and benefits to customers.
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are well-presented.
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
- Assist with inventory management through stock checks and merchandising adjustments as needed.
- Support team supervision by guiding new staff or less experienced team members during busy periods.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by actively listening, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse customers.
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve a broader customer base.
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations.
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or familiarity with retail environments is advantageous.
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for engaging with customers both in person and over the phone.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail.
