Duties
- Perform a variety of hair styling services including cuts, color treatments, blowouts, and special occasion styles with precision and flair.
- Apply hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and hair threading techniques to enhance client looks.
- Utilize salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently.
- Provide expert consultations on color theory, hair care routines, and styling options tailored to each client’s needs.
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by cleaning tools, stations, and work areas in accordance with health regulations.
- Assist with retail sales by recommending products like hair care, nail care items, makeup, and retail math to maximize sales opportunities.
- Support front desk operations by greeting clients, answering inquiries, managing bookings, and ensuring a smooth flow of daily appointments.
- Mentor junior team members in hair styling techniques, customer service excellence, and salon procedures to foster a collaborative environment.
Experience
- Proven experience as a hairstylist or barber with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse styling skills.
- Knowledge of salon software systems such as MINDBODY or similar platforms for appointment management.
- Skilled in hair coloring techniques based on color theory principles; experience with balayage or highlights is a plus.
- Expertise in hair extensions application, eyelash extensions, nail care, and makeup application preferred.
- Familiarity with sanitation protocols specific to cosmetology and barbering practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide personalized recommendations.
- Previous store management or leadership experience is advantageous but not required; a passion for mentoring others is highly valued.
