Position Summary
The Fulfillment Staff Pharmacist monitors and assures compliance to State and Federal Rules and Regulations, FDA requirements, manufacturer contractual agreements, and internal quality assurance checks while overseeing the dispensing of specialty medications.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify prescriptions to ensure accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with all federal and state laws and regulatory standards
- Provide medication counseling to patients, ensuring understanding of therapies, potential side effects, and proper administration
- Perform final quality assurance checks on all dispensed medications and participate in quality assurance activities, including medication error reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions
- Provide oversight and quality assurance guidance to fulfillment pharmacy technicians, supporting best practices in pharmacy operations
- Assume management responsibility for pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager
- Maintain appropriate security of the pharmacy department
Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered pharmacist licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Bachelor’s degree (BS), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), or equivalent from an ACPE-accredited institution
- Previous experience in specialty pharmacy or mail-order pharmacy preferred
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
