Overview
Join our dynamic manufacturing team as a Machinist Level 1 and become a key contributor to precision metalworking operations. In this role, you will operate and set up CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce high-quality components. Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machining equipment such as CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring accurate setup and operation according to blueprints and technical drawings
- Assist in machine setup, including tooling selection and calibration using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and manufacturing specifications to produce parts that meet quality standards
- Perform manual machining tasks using hand tools, grinders, and power tools to support production needs or fine-tuning of machined components
- Program CNC machines utilizing G-code and M-code commands; troubleshoot common issues related to CNC programming and machine operation
- Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to verify parts against specifications
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by adhering to lean manufacturing practices and maintaining a safe work environment
Skills
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, and GD&T symbols for accurate part fabrication
- Knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code, M-code, and CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software
- Experience with CNC machining tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and manual machining equipment
- Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software like SolidWorks or similar for interpreting design models
- Ability to operate measurement instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators for precision quality control
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machine setup, tooling selection, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including metal machining, CNC quality inspection, tooling management, and lean principles
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot machine issues efficiently
- Commitment to safety protocols when handling power tools and machining equipment

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
