Duties
- Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to residents’ interests, abilities, and health conditions, including dementia and Alzheimer’s care.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as mobility, dressing, and personal hygiene during events when needed.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and family members to assess individual needs and modify activities accordingly.
- Lead group exercises, games, arts and crafts sessions, music therapy, and outings that promote physical movement and mental stimulation.
- Maintain accurate records of participation, resident preferences, and activity outcomes for ongoing care planning.
- Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages socialization and emotional well-being among residents.
Skills
- Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living or long-term care settings.
- Strong background in senior care, dementia or Alzheimer’s care, memory care programs, or working with individuals with disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage residents of varying cognitive levels and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of caregiving techniques related to assisting with ADLs and managing aging issues counseling.
- Ability to manage schedules efficiently while adapting activities to changing resident needs.
- Familiarity with home & community care practices and experience in long-term or assisted living environments is highly desirable.

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
