OVERVIEW:
A well-established company in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Fabrication Engineer to join their team. This position is located in the southwest area of the Atlanta, GA metropolitan region. The company has made significant investments in new capital equipment and offers a positive working environment. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the chosen candidate will be responsible for planning and designing manufacturing processes to optimize efficiency and achieve production goals while adhering to product specifications. The role includes comprehensive benefits, bonus potential, and a 401k with a 5% match. Standard working hours are 8-5 with potential for extended hours up to 45-50 per week.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design production tooling using 2D & 3D software like SolidWorks.
- Implement productivity enhancements for current production lines.
- Conduct root cause analysis of failures and recommend design or process changes.
- Develop and implement production processes for new and existing products.
- Perform FMEA's on designs, materials, and processes.
- Review product designs for manufacturability and efficiency.
- Collaborate in cross-functional teams to optimize productivity methods.
- Utilize lean manufacturing, design of experiments, and ROIA methods.
- Participate in design review meetings for products.
- Create work instructions, spare parts inventories, and other documentation.
- Implement automation and robotic systems for production processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; relevant work experience can substitute for formal education.
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
- Proficiency in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with tooling, project management, and automation systems.
- Background in heavy manufacturing and mechanical aptitude.
- Authorization to work in the USA without sponsorship.
